Yet another house update

Well...........we signed the loan docs yesterday and it looks like we will be closing tomorrow!! If not tomorrow monday for sure but my agent is willing to give me the combination tomorrow so that we can start doing a few things. The only bad thing is Kev isn't really sure as to when his next day off will be, and I really need him to move since I am not supposed to be lifting anything. So we may not get moved in for awhile. But my mom and I can start cleaning and she offered to start painting so hopefully we can be productive in the meantime. Thanks to all of you who prayed for us during this arduous process. I'm finally ready to annouce....

....That we are expecting!! I've been very weary of writing this post because I had a miscarriage about this time last year, but everything is looking good so far. I've had a couple little bumps already, but because of that I have been able to have two ultrasounds all ready and baby looks great! The last one was about 5 days ago (at 9 weeks) and the baby's heartbeat was strong and we could even see it moving around. I am still scared because of my loss, but I am trusting that this beautiful life is in God's hands, and He knows what is best for it. I will, of course, post updates as I get them. My next appointment is August 7th. Based on the ultrasound they are giving me a due date of Febuary 24th. I appreciate all who have already been praying for us and I would love that continued support. We are so excited!

Toga! Toga! Toga!

Last night (the 26th) was Dylan's and my best friend Kaley's birthday. Kaley throws big themed parties every year and this years theme was "Greek". Kevin and I went as a Greek couple and Dylan as Cupid. Dylan looked so cute in his costume and I was so proud of him for even wearing it. Last halloween he fought with us for over an hour and never would put his elmo costume on so we could go to the church fair. He seemed to really enjoy the whole event. He is going to have a small family party tomorrow, but Kaley did a great job in including him in her party as well. He had presents to open, and he helped her open hers as well. He also helped her blow out the candles. The food was so great- Kaley's Mom slaved all day making all these authentic Greek dishes that were all so good. Cliff did the decorations and the place was decked out in Greek flags, balloons and blue and white streamers. More than half the people came dressed up too, which was awesome! We stayed at the party until 11:30!! By that time Dylan was ready to go home. Here are some pictures from the party and a video of Kaley and Dylan blowing out the candles.

House Update

I just wanted to post a quick update on the house. The bank who owns the property finally sent all their paperwork back so it's looking like we could close early this week. This is, of course, if they don't run into any unforeseen bumps along the way. We are really excited even though it might take us awhile to actually move in as Kevin is working a lot. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers that everything goes smoothly and we finally get our house!!

Camping and Seaworld

First, just a little update on the house. They (the bank who owns the property) asked for the closing date to be extended to this Friday. Now it looks as though that isn't going to happen. It is really frustrating because there is such poor communication between the listing agent and the bank that we never really get a good idea as to what the hold up is. However, we know that it will all happen when it is meant to happen and are trying to be patient (really really trying).

On the plus side, we had a great week off with Kevin. We actually ended up doing everything we wanted to do on a longer vacation, just broken up into parts. We went to Legoland, Seaworld, Knotts Soak City, the beach and a nice little camping trip. Plus I think it was better to break it all up because Dylan seems to get a little wierd about being away from home for to long.

So the latest trip was camping at the beach with my parents. They have a travel trailer and we stayed in San Clemente. We hadn't taken Dylan with them since he was one, and he did really well. He had a really good time at the beach- and even played in the sand this time! He also had a good time at the campsite, running around with my Mom, riding his scooter and trike, and of course watching the occasional wiggles video on the portable DVD player. On the second day we went to Seaworld which I was really excited about, because my parents hadn't been there forever, and it was Dylan's first time. Dylan didn't enjoy it quite as much as I thought he would. He liked the shows but only for about the first five minutes. He liked looking at a lot of the animals, but he kept asking for rides. I think he has gotten to used to Disneyland and the like. They do have a small ride section there now, so we saved it for the end of the day and he, of course, really liked it. Legoland

The second part of our journey was a visit to Legoland. We had been once before with Kevin's family, but Dylan was 10 months old and couldn't do anything. It really is one of the most little kid friendliest parks. Dylan is 40 inches tall and he could go on all but like 2 rides in the whole park. And a ton of them you only have to me 36 inches. My only recomendation is that you have an adult for every child because they don't let kids go on most rides by themselves. I saw a lot of single parents struggling with this. Dylan liked every ride we went on there, and he kept asking for more roller coasters- he really likes the faster, more daring rides. We lasted from 10am when the park opened, until about 5. It was a really fun day. I wish I could say the same for the car ride home though. Dylan slept for the first 40 minutes but them woke up and whinned "home" every ten seconds for the rest of the ride. He didn't care how many times I explained that we were driving home and that we would be there soon. We have a lot of fun things planned the rest of the week, so I am thankful, even though we didn't get our house, that we are getting some good family time in. Here are some pictures from legoland:

The Beach!

Ok, so I have to admit that a couple good things have come out of us not getting our house this week. Number one: a whole 9 days with my husband! We decided on Monday morning to take a last minute trip to the beach (carlsbad), stay overnight, and go to Legoland on Tuesday. We had so much fun! Our original plan was to take a longer vacation to the San Diego area later in the summer, but now with our housing and moving plans all up in the air, we decided we better get out whenever we can.

Dylan went to the beach with Kevin about a month ago and he was kind of scared of the whole thing. We were determined to get him in the water this time. It took about four trips down to the water just holding him for him to finally allow us to put him in the water. Once he got over being scared, he had so much fun. He didn't want to leave the water the rest of the time. My next goal is to get him over his dislike of sand. Lol, what little boy doesn't like playing in the dirt?? Mine! He hates having sand on him at all. I'm hoping he can get over it because I love building sand castles and whatnot. Here are some pictures from the beach day:

Super fun pool day

A couple days ago we were invited to our friend Ashley's family's house to go swimming. Little did we know that it was going to be the coolest pool ever! First of all it was pebble-tec and saltwater, with multiple waterfalls, a grotto, and the best of all- a slide! For about 30 minutes we were showing Dylan how "fun" it was to go down the slide but he wasn't going for it. Finally, our friend Cliff, who is happy to play the bad guy for the greater good, picked up Dylan and headed straight for the slide. They went down together and by half way down Dylan had a huge smile on his face. Of course after that it was "again" about 30 times. He wanted to go with everyone, by himself, on a raft, on a tube. It was so much fun. So thanks to Ashley and her family for having us over, and thanks to all my friends who help Dylan be adventerous. You won't see Kev in the pictures cause he had to work, but we are going back next week so that he can be involved in the fun.

Frustration

As I said in a previous post our house is supposed to be closing escrow on the 10th, which is this Thursday, two days from now. I've pretty much been informed that there is no way that this is going to happen. The house is a foreclosure and it is pretty much the bank that owns it that is holding it up. They are so slow to do anything! And the crummy thing is that they are the ones who picked the date and pushed for such a quick sale. It wouldn't be a huge deal except Kevin has taken all of next week off so that we could work on the house and move in. There is no way that he can change that time off, so I guess we might be looking for a last minute vacation. We have been waiting sooooo long for this, and I know that I should be patient and trusting but I just feel extremely frustrated right now. Please pray that Kevin's time off next week won't be taken in vain. I will update as the situation progresses.

Little Magic Man

Let me preface this story by saying that Dylan is a HUGE Wiggles fan. And if you've ever watched these crazy guys you would know that Greg (the yellow wiggle) does magic in a lot of the episodes. Pulling stuffed rabbits out of hats and making little balls disapear, things like that. So Dylan has been kind of trying to do some of the tricks but yesterday he took it to another level. He wanted a cape (my apron- now we found one to tie around his neck more like a cape), a hat (his little gillagan hat), a magic wand (a crochet hook), and a rabbit (a small beanie Tigger). It is so cute cause he makes Tigger hide in the hat and then he waves his magic wand and makes him come out. It is the cutest thing- here are some pictures:
