This week is Vacation Bible School at my church and I am volunteering in the 4 year old classroom so I am there from 7:30 until 12:15. Not sure what I am going to do about exercise, I am going to try to go in the afternoon, but I'm pretty drained by the time I get home.
I apologize for the lack of interesting posts lately, I will try to pick it up soon!

Spirit West Coast
I don't know how to describe our trip to Del Mar for Spirit West Coast this year except AWESOME. Everyone we saw was so good, even the bands we weren't really expecting to enjoy. The headliner the first night was Skillet: Kevin and I are into rock and alternative music but Skillet is very hard rock. They were so good though. They brought so much energy to the stage and they had an electric violinist and an electric cello player that were extraordinary.

The next day was the day we had been looking forward to for so long because it was the day that the Supertones would be playing. This was only their second concert in a very short reunion tour that they are doing. They were on at 3pm and Kevin and I got to the stage early so we could stand in the dirt in front of the stage and act like teenagers. For those of you who aren't familiar with them, they are a Ska band so they have a lead singer, 2 guitarists, a bass player, a drummer, and trumpet player and a trombone player. They were so awesome and the best part was when they took a break from playing their music to engage the whole audience in singing worship.

Right after the Supertones on saturday we ran over to the other stage to see Stellar Kart. They are a lot of fun. When Kevin and I listened to more secular music, we really liked Weezer, Blink 182, and All American Rejects. Stellar Kart is a very good substitute for that kind of band. They do rocking covers of A Whole New World from Aladdin and Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer.
After that we went and saw Jars of Clay. We have one Jars of Clay CD, maybe their first one, and we like them but they have always been a little too light for us, but they really rocked it. We both enjoyed them a lot. That night's headliner was Steven Curtis Chapman. This is probably going to upset some of you, but we decided to leave early that night and go out to dinner. He is WAY too easy listening for us. :-)
At about 9:30 on Saturday night I got a call from my sister saying my Dad was in the hospital. He had come back from his walk that afternoon very confused and disoriented so my Mom had to take him to the ER. After lots of tests they figured out that the only thing that could have caused the episode was high blood pressure. Once they got his BP down he was totally back to normal. We decided to leave Sunday morning though since he was in the hospital and my Mom, who was going to watch Ethan that day, needed to be with him. Even having missed the last day we were still totally stoked with the whole experience.
One thing I liked was that almost every band took time to stop playing and talk about their testimony or something that God was doing in their life, or a scripture that they felt God wanted to share through them. It was really awesome and I'm sure it really impacted a lot of people.
Can't wait to go next year!! (and you should too!!)

Exercise Stats 5/24-5/30 and weigh-in
Monday: 30 minutes elliptical/ 20 minutes weights
Tuesday: Ditto!
Wednesday: Ditto!
Thursday: 2.2 mile power walk with the ladies
Friday: we headed to del mar for SWC
Saturday: Did a lot of walking (and a lot of eating)
Sunday: OFF
I was happy with this week, especially since we went out of town for 3 days, I took advantage of the time I was here and didn't slack off.
So I decided to weigh in on Friday the 28th since we were going away for the weekend and I knew that our food choices were going to be sketchy. I stepped on the scale and it was exactly the SAME as the month before. UGHHHHH. I am determined not to be discouraged by this but it was a bummer. I know I didn't do quite as well with the healthy eating as I did the first month, but I was hoping that the exercise would still show some results. So I'm going to try to get back on track in that regard and try really hard to exercise 5 days a week. I would appreciate your prayers for my motivation and willpower.
