Dylan Pics

I realized I haven't put any pictures of Dylan on recently so I thought I would post some from the last few days. We went to the park and he was dressed as his new obsession- Handy Manny. Later on at my parents house he went "swimming" for awhile (aka go in up to his waist and talk about how it's too cold the whole time). He also was lucky enough to get invited to go to disneyland with our friends Kaley and Cliff. He went on all the big kid rides and loved them all (especially Thunder and Space Mountain!!) He is getting so big!

Happy one month birthday!

Baby Ethan turned one month yesterday, and I can't believe how fast it has gone. He has a doctor appointment next week so we will find out then how much he has grown, but I can tell he is growing a lot. He has outgrown his newborn clothes and is filling out nicely. It's amazing to see how their faces change and develop almost daily. I have gotten a few smiles but they are still few and far between. Dylan is still doing really well. I keep waiting for the jealousy to start but if anything I struggle with getting Dylan to leave Ethan alone when he is sleeping because he always wants to know where he is and be touching and looking at him. Being a Mom of two is hard but I'm getting better at coping a little more everyday. Things are definitely better when my wonderful husband is around to lighten the load. I am also getting a lot of help from family. So thanks to everyone that has lent a hand, brought a meal, or played with Dylan. Here are a couple pictures from the last few days:

2 weeks old

Ethan turned 2 weeks yesterday and he is doing great! At his doctor appointment he was 21 inches (up from 19) and 8 pounds even (up from 7lbs 110z although he was down to 7lbs 2oz in the hospital). He has been spending more time awake and a little more time fussy, but overall he has been a very good baby. Last night was my first real rough night with the 2 boys, for some reason Ethan was really fussy and I could barely put him down and Dylan was just wild and wanted attention. Things have been better so far today so hopefully that continues. Dylan has been great with Ethan, not a lot of jealousy, and he has been very gentle, and generally just loves to look at him and talk to him. Speaking of, Ethan just woke up so here are a couple more recent pictures:

Back to the hospital

When we left the hospital on fridaywith Baby Ethan his bilirubin (sp?) level was 10 which is borderline high for jaundice. So the doctor waned us to go back in a couple days and get his levels checked again. So we went back on Monday and I got a call from the doctor several hours later saying that his levels were up to 15 and he needed to be admitted for light treatment. I thought that we would just go to the hospital, get a treatment, and go home, so when the nurse said that we would be staying there I was really freaked out. The first night was really rough for both Kev and I because I was supposed to stay with Ethan and Kev wasn't allowed to. I don't think we have ever spent a night away from eachother since we've been married. The treatment consisted of Ethan being put in an isolette with only his diaper and an eye mask on and laying under bili-lights. I could take him out every three hours for a half an hour to feed him pumped breast milk and formula. The next day his levels were down to 12 but we still had to stay another night. Praise the Lord the next day his levels were down to 6 and we were released. He had a doctor appointment yesterday and everything looks great! The whole experience was way harder on us than it was on Ethan, he didn't mind the treatment at all. I'll post again soon with new pictures.
