Does this mean we are all grown up?

My oldest (and by this I mean longest) friend Lucia is getting married on Saturday. We met in preschool when we were 2 years old. Our Moms tell the story of us spotting each other in the grocery store and yelling “Genny!!” and “Lucia!!” to alert our parents that we had seen each other. Right there in the store our Moms got to talking, decided to get together to go swimming and the rest is history! Even though she moved to Chico when we were about 8, both we and our families have stayed in contact ever since.

This is a picture of us when we were about four (and my super manly Dad in the background)

Does this mean we are all grown up??

Baby E’s current obsession

My baby boy spends about 50% of his waking hours playing with these blocks…

019

They are large mega blocks

They were Dylan’s and I am oh so glad I kept them

He stacks them, he knocks them down, he laughs

He doesn’t understand why you can’t stack big blocks on top of little blocks.

We have to pick them up 10 times a day…. but it’s worth it!

My new job

It’s been about a month and a half since I started my new job at the church. Things I LOVE about my job:

  • It has nothing to do with waiting on tables
  • I work with other Christians
  • I work with AWESOME people, seriously, I would totally pick these people as friends
  • I love working with kids, especially preschoolers, they are so fun
  • I love getting to be creative as part of my job
  • Did I mention I don’t ever have to handle people’s chewed up rib bones?
  • Oh, and I have a desk, in a cubicle, I don’t know why but this excites me!
  • My Hubby says I look good in orange :-)

Soccer!

Dylan had his first soccer practice/game last Saturday and he loved it! I totally didn't picture it being his thing, but a friend told me about the league and we decided to give it a try. His team has five 4-5 year old boys. The way they run the games for the kids this age is they practice for 30 minutes before their game and then they have a 30 minute game; no refs, no keeping score. They are just trying to let the kids learn how to play the game. It was really cute. All the kids were really into it and ran around in a little herd after the ball. Dylan almost scored a goal but the ball hit the post and bounced away. We had a great time, but this week we are going to try to come prepared with chairs, an umbrella, and more water. Here are some pictures:
