"Aren't All Religions the Same?"

This is a question posed and answered at church a couple weeks ago. This message answered so many questions that I have thought about my whole life. Pastor Bob had a Professor from Biola University, Craig Hazen, who has studied Christianity and World Religions his entire career come and answer questions on this subject. These are the main questions they addressed:

  • What do you think most strongly influences the majority of people’s beliefs or choice of
    religion? Why?
  • At the end of the day we’re all worshipping the same God aren’t we? Why
does it matter which religious path we take?
  • If the various religions really are different how can we know which one, if
any, is correct? What criteria or standards can a person use to decide?
  • How is the Bible different from other religious books like the Qur’an, the
Book of Mormon, the Bhagavad-Gita, and others?
  • What sets Jesus apart from all the other religious figures in other world
religions? Why is He so unique or better?
  • If you studied all the other religions, why aren’t you Buddhist, Mormon
or Muslim? Why are you a Christian?

Hearing all of the information they put forth made a real and profound impact on my life and on my faith. I urge you, if this is something that you have ever even wondered about before, to listen to this podcast.

Garage Sale Find

I went garage saling this morning with my friend Rhonda. She scored big time but I was happy to find some clothes for the boys and this picture frame/hook thingy pictured above (priced at 5 dollars, I offered 3 and got it). I actually thought it was going to be too big for this space but it isn't and I am happy to have something to hang the keys, purse, and diaper bag on. These items were always taking over my chairs and counters. I just need to decide what pictures I want to put in it and I will be set!

Exercise Stats 4/26- 5/2

Weigh-In

I lost exactly the amount that I was hoping and praying for..... 10 pounds! One month down, the rest of my life to go! This took about 5 weeks as I started a little before the beginning of April. Usually I wouldn't be satisfied with 2 pounds a week, but I am thrilled because I know that it is REAL weight loss instead of that quick water weight loss you get with fad diets. Keep praying for us!
